Laurie Boyall

Laurie Boyall is co-founder and Group Chief Executive of McGregor Boyall Associates, a leading international recruitment consultancy with UK offices in London, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Glasgow as well as offices in Dubai, Singapore and, imminently, Hong Kong. After working as an academic and in the educational travel industry in the United States and Europe, Laurie set up McGregor Boyall over three decades ago to meet the recruiting and resourcing requirements of a UK IT sector that was growing exponentially.

Working initially with US software firms seeking to launch and build operations in the UK and mainland Europe, Laurie subsequently pivoted the business towards a UK financial markets sector that was about to experience unprecedented growth due to dramatic deregulation. Since then, Laurie has continued to steer the firm through the always interesting and frequently challenging water of financial services. The firm now offers its core financial services clients a range of recruitment offerings that go beyond its IT origins, including Risk, Compliance, Change, HR, Finance and Marketing. It has also progressively extended its IT recruitment offering to clients operating outside the financial services sector.

Laurie continues to be a full-time CEO and insists that he will remain so until he has discovered a hobby that’s as interesting as his job.

Laurie has an honors degree and a doctorate in Comparative Literature and is a member of the Institute of Directors.
