The Power of People: Social Media Highlights From Engage Boston 2019
Staffing and recruiting experts from around the world came together for three days in Boston from June 12th through the 14th at Bullhorn’s annual staffing industry conference, Engage. The conference offered an incredible opportunity to network and learn from some of the industry’s brightest minds, and discover how to more effectively engage talent, leadership, and the future of staffing.
This year’s theme was the power of people and as the recruitment industry constantly evolves with advancements in technology, agencies must keep in mind that their most powerful assets are, and always will be humans. Women in Staffing Luncheon
Engage kicked off on Wednesday with a fantastic luncheon discussion about empowering, mentoring and sponsoring women in staffing to grow within their careers. The discussion was led by Leah McKelvey, Bullhorn‘s VP of Global Enterprise Strategy & Operations, Alicia Barker, Chief Operating Officer at Staffing 360 Solutions, Maggie Lower, Chief Marketing Officer at TrueBlue Inc., and Ursula Williams, Chief Operating Officer at Staffing Industry Analysts, and was a major hit with many attendees.

Breakout Sessions
More than 90 speakers spoke throughout the three days at Engage Boston. The conference had eight different breakout session talk tracks for attendees to learn how to engage talent, leadership, and the future of staffing. Earvin “Magic” Johnson, NBA legend, Hall of Famer, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and Chairman and CEO of Magic Johnson Enterprises, spoke to more than 1,200 attendees on Thursday afternoon on the importance of over-delivering. And he certainly over-delivered. Innovation Throwdown
Always a favorite session for attendees, the Innovation Throwdown offers a unique opportunity for Bullhorn developers to bring their ideas to life. This energetic session is a competition between the finalists from Bullhorn’s Innovation Week, when programmers dedicate themselves to bringing their most creative and inventive product enhancements to life without constraints or limitations. This year, Tim Merill, Bullhorn’s Director of Product Design, won the competition.

The Third Annual Bullseye Awards for Staffing Innovation honor the people in staffing who have transformed their businesses and the industry at large through innovation and excellence in staffing, leadership, and technology.
